CREDITS

SBSES is a project of the
Office of Disability Employment Policy of the U.S. Department of Labor
located at the Job Accommodation Network.

Thank you for visiting the Small Business and Self-Employment Service website. This site contains resources related to self-employment and telecommuting options for people with disabilities. The Job Accommodation Network is an information, consulting, and referral service sponsored by the the Office of Disability Employment Policy of the U.S. Department of Labor. We provide consulting services to employers, rehabilitation professionals and people with disabilities regarding workplace accommodations for people with functional limitations. We also answer questions pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act. In an effort to expand our services to meet the needs of our callers, we have begun to provide consulting and information services related to self-employment and telecommuting for people with disabilities. It is our hope that this initiative will help expand access to resources and self-employment options for our callers. It is important to note that this service is not a job placement service and our function is not to locate positions for callers who wish to work from home. That is beyond the scope of what we do. We do however hope that the resources assembled here will provide a useful clearinghouse of information for those wishing to become self-employed or telecommute.
