Agricultural Ergonomics Research
Center The Agricultural
Ergonomics Research Center at UC Davis brings together a broad-based
team of faculty, professionals, and students to study the ergonomics
of agricultural work. Efforts are focused on describing ergonomic
risk factors as well as design, evaluation, and dissemination of interventions
which reduce or eliminate ergonomic risk factors with neutral or positive
impact on work productivity.
American Occupational Therapy Association,
Inc. The American
Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the nationally recognized
professional association for over 60,000 occupational therapists and
occupational therapy assistants. These individuals work with people
experiencing health problems such as stroke, spinal cord, injuries,
cancer, congenital conditions, developmental problems, and mental illness,
in a wide range of practice settings including hospitals, nursing facilities,
home health agencies, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, psychiatric
facilities and schools.

by the Center for Workplace Health. The Center for Workplace Health
is a wholly independent organization dedicated to the promotion

The mission of
the Naval Occupational Safety and Health, and Environmental Training
Center is to provide quality education and training, and associated
services, for all military and civilian naval personnel, afloat and
ashore, in the areas of occupational safety and health, and environmental
protection. The intent is to enhance operational readiness by ensuring
accurate, responsive training is available at all levels and echelons
to preserve safe and healthful workplaces, while protecting and restoring

is a multidisciplinary research program within the Washington State
Department of Labor and Industries, whose mission is to conduct

SHARP was created by the Washington State Legislature in 1990.

Silicon Valley Ergonomics
Institute The
SVEi is an official unit of the San Jose State University. It was
created by an interdisciplinary faculty group in 1992 to address
the growing importance of ergonomics, human factors, and safety
in industry and in most public and service sector agencies. The
objective of the SVEi is to organize and conduct interdisciplinary
programs of teaching, research, community service, and development
in this emerging professional discipline.

Hygiene Society (BOHS) is a multidisciplinary learned society which
was founded in 1953, and which now has members in over 30 countries
who share the same common aims to promote occupational hygiene.
Human Factors and Ergonomics Society
The Society's mission
is to promote the discovery and exchange of knowledge related to the
assignment of appropriate functions for humans and machines, whether
people serve as operators, maintainers, or users in the system.
International Occupational Hygiene
Association The
IOHA conducts a wide range of activities intended to promote and develop
occupational hygiene worldwide. From its creation in 1987 the IOHA
has grown to more than twenty member organizations, representing over
20,000 occupational hygienists worldwide. The IOHA provides an international
voice of the occupational hygiene profession through its status as
a non-governmental organization (NGO) of the World Health Organization.
