Linda Yost has been working at JAN as a Motor /Sensory Team consultant since February 2008. SHe also lends support to JAN's Motor Team. Linda holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Industrial Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling, respectively, and did post-graduate training in school-to-work transition planning, and is currently enrolled in The Hadley School for the Blind's professional studies program.
A nationally certified rehabilitation counselor (C.R.C.), Linda brings 15 years of private sector experience to JAN, serving employers and employees by conducting work site ergonomic assessments, developing and implementing employee accommodation plans, doing job/task and worker trait analyses, and writing position descriptions. She especially enjoys working on employers' cases in litigation, including conducting evaluations of plaintiffs and providing testimony as a vocational witness.
Linda has a background in human resources, including initiating and supervising a federally-funded career assessment and case management center for the West Virginia Bureau of Employment Programs, providing vocational assessment, testing, test interpretation, career coaching, and referral of clients to work and training. A member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), Linda is currently researching work-life balance issues from a career counseling perspective and developing continuing education curricula. Linda also serves as a facilitator for low vision and diabetes support groups and is a member of the Vandalia Chapter of the Mountain State Council of the Blind.
