Sheryl Grossman came to JAN as a Consultant in August of 2008 after 16 years working in the DisAbility Rights Movement where she provided assistance across the board with housing, transportation, public access, assistive technology, voting, home-and-community-based-services, and employment.

Always striving to improve the quality of life for people with disAbilities, Sheryl specializes in multiple minority group issues as well as low-incidence conditions.

Sheryl has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Jewish and Near Eastern Studies and a special minor in DisAbility Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, where she also obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work, concentrating on DisAbility Issues and Advocacy. In addition, Sheryl received a Certificate in Crisis Work from the American Association of Suicidology in 2000.

In her free time, Sheryl works as founder and director of an international support group for people with Bloom’s Syndrome and their support networks: Bloom’s Connect. Founded in 1996 as a telephone and mail-based group, it grew to an online support group in 1997 and had its first in-person conference in May of 2008.
