JAN Webcasts are available at no cost. Gather your employees together in a room for live, in-service training. Educate yourself, management, and other employees on disability etiquette, assistive technologies, management techniques, and the latest on accommodations and the employment provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All Webcasts begin at 2 pm eastern and are 1 hour. You must register to attend. One registration is equivalent to one login.

April 13, 2010 - Employer Best Practices - Project Search: A National Success Story
Speakers: Lou Orslene, MPIA, MSW, JAN Co-Director, with Susan Rutkowski and Jennifer Linnabary from Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center.
This presentation will begin with a short overview of the Project SEARCH High School Transition Program, its history and beginnings at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the model components of the program. The second part of the presentation will focus on highly successful low tech and some high tech accommodations that enable the students and graduates to perform their jobs independently. These modifications have been developed using the individual’s learning style and the concept of universal design. The examples given during the presentation have been successfully implemented in a variety of hospital settings.
