Roadmaps for Enhancing Employment of Persons with Disabilities
Through the Use of Assistive Technology -REGISTRATION
IS FULL.
Session Description:
John Kemp will discuss the Roadmaps
for Enhancing Employment of Persons with Disabilities Through
the Use of Assistive Technology. These "Roadmaps" were
developed in September 2007 during a ATIA and USBLN business dialogue
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor and Education. The purpose
of the meeting was to facilitate dialogue among business leaders,
AT stakeholders, and policy makers to meet their demand for an
expanded pool of qualified employees. A consensus roadmap emerged
for business, non-profits, and policy makers on how to expand
the readiness and capacity of businesses to address the accessibility
and usability needs of individuals with disabilities in the work
environment.
